John defeated Helen Samuel four frames to nil in the best of seven frames final played at the Lamana Q Club on Saturday.John won the 1st frame 74-28, the 2nd 56-26, 3rd 54-39 before claiming the 2016 National Gaming Control Board PNG Women’s Title with a 47-13 score-line in the 4th frame. “The margins of the scores look huge but Helen played well and pushed me to the limit to win. I thank her for a wonderful game,” said John.Samuel got the top seed award off John after going through her round robin matches undefeated. Samuel also made the highest break of 34 during the tournament. Fifteen-year-old Geua Vaieke won the Plate final when she defeated Joyce Gorea 2-1 at the Dragon’s Den.The most outstanding player award went to Nellie Aoae while the best dressed award went to Kaia Ovia.Vice-president of the PNG Billiards and Snooker Association, John Chan congratulated John and commended the 40 women for participating and making the women’s titles another success.Chan thanked official naming rights sponsors National Gaming Control Board and other benefactors for their support.
