With the tournament having started a week ago, the Indian team was made to wait before they launched their title campaign but the victory must have tasted sweet for the Men in Blue.In an exclusive interview with India Today former India captain Sachin Tendulkar expressed his satisfaction over India’s performance and advised the team to carry the confidence into their next game against Australia on June 9.”I think the first win under the belt is always a comforting feeling. It means you have started on the right note and you want to build on it. The dressing room must be happy with what they have been able to achieve. This game is over and my advice now to the team would be to pack the confidence that you have gained from the match, pack it in your kit bag and move on to the next game,” said Sachin.South Africa, on the other hand, have now last all 3 of their matches so far in this World Cup, thereby dealing a huge blow to their chances in the tournament. After a humbling loss to England in the tournament opener, the Proteas fell to an embarrasing defeat against Bangladesh before running into hot favourites India. In Sachin’s opinion, the SA team now needs to ‘do something out-of-the-box’ if they have to get out of the rut they currently find themselves in.advertisement”It’s a question they have to answer. South Africa have to really pull up their socks if they have to stay alive in this tournament and do something out-of-the-box. It’s going to require a mega effort. The whole team needs to do something different. (Lungi) Ngidi did not play this one and they surely missed him,” said Sachin.India will next face Australia on Sunday while South Africa, who are struggling to find any kind of momentum in the match, taking on the West Indies on Monday in Southampton. Also Read | World Cup 2019: Ziva Dhoni in the house as MS Dhoni joins forces with Rohit to beat South AfricaAlso Read | World Cup 2019: India have the ammunition to tackle Australia at The Oval, says Sachin TendulkarAlso SeeFor sports news, updates, live scores and cricket fixtures, log on to indiatoday.in/sports. NEW DELHI: Pakistan’s filing of terror charges against Lashkar-e-Taiba chief Hafiz Saeed and the assurance of his arrest is a “cosmetic step” and Islamabad is not doing enough to control terrorists acting from the country, the Centre said Thursday. Hafiz Saeed, the chief of Lashkar-e-Taiba and the mastermind of the Mumbai terror attack, has been getting a free run in Pakistan even after India provided Pakistan with the evidence. On Wednesday, following sustained international pressure, they were charged with multiple offences of terror financing and money laundering in a First Information Report filed by the Counter Terrorism Department of Pakistan’s Punjab Police. Asked why the men have not yet been arrested, Punjab police spokesperson Niyab Haider Naqvi said the filing of a First Information Report is the first step. “Saeed and others nominated in the FIRs will also be arrested subsequently,” he added. Foreign ministry spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said: “Pakistan claims to take action, but when it comes to people we want action against, you (Pakistan) go in denial mode. You try to project to the international community. This is a case of double standards.”See P11 read more
